Provide and feeding your mother-in-law is a marital obligation.

Marital Obligations

Art. 68. CIVIL CODE
"The spouses are obliged to live together, to be faithful to each other and to help each other. They shall, in addition, share domestic responsibilities and the care and attention of ascendants and descendants and other dependents."

It is not uncommon that when someone announces the news of their upcoming marriage, someone at the table makes the joke. Sometimes, in addition to the tender congratulations and hugs, we also hear the cousin of the family saying: I'm so sorry... (of course with an ironic and jocular tone).

This joke usually produces a smile, but it reveals a reality.

Of course, who will not believe in eternal love on the day of the purchase of the wedding ring, and the day it is given as a gift?

Movies have made us believe that stories always have a happy ending, and along the way, they have made us forget the essence of a marriage.

And the essence, or at least the origin, is not a love story (although it could also be).

Marriage is a CONTRACT. Maybe the most important, or perhaps the second most important if we have a mortgage loan.

What is true is that in addition to being a contract, it has very rigorous formalities. The State has been in charge of giving it a higher status than any other.

The effects of marriage affect the personal and patrimonial sphere of individuals.

With unavoidable consequences for each of the members of the marriage...

Did you know that when you sign a marriage contract you are obliged to fulfill certain duties?

Do you know what those duties are?

Possibly you know, or...who knows, maybe some of you don't.

And therefore, as in any important contract, but in this case even more so, good advice from a good lawyer is essential.

Getting married and asking for advice from the florist, the dressmaker, the travel agent, the restaurateur, the tailor...and forgetting the lawyer, has a price. Usually very expensive.

¡Come to our office in any case! It's worth it!
